Scholarships and Financial Aid
San Francisco Ballet School is a part of San Francisco Ballet Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. School tuition and housing fees are set on an annual basis to defray the costs associated with our programs. SF Ballet School relies on contributions from many generous donors to cover the remaining expenses. Contributions and donations are also resources that provide funds for student aid awards, both merit-based scholarships and need-based financial aid.

SF Ballet School offers a limited number of merit-based scholarships available to intermediate and advanced-level students, based on the potential to achieve a professional career in ballet. Scholarships are awarded at the time of invitation to the program. Scholarships are awarded for a limited time, either one school year and/or summer program.
SF Ballet School offers a limited amount of need-based financial aid. The number of awards is dependent upon contributions and careful consideration is given to all requests for assistance. Financial aid can be awarded towards tuition and/or housing. Financial aid will not be issued for the Registration Fee, Housing Registration Fee, or International Student Fees. Financial aid is awarded for a limited period of time—either one summer session or one regular school year. Families must reapply each year to be considered.
Families may apply for financial aid by using the TADS Financial Aid Assessment, an online tool specifically tailored to evaluate financial need for SF Ballet School. Due to the short time frame in which families have to apply for financial aid for the summer program, families are encouraged to print the TADS Worksheet and gather all the necessary information as early as possible. Once your student has been accepted to the summer program, submit the application online.
